Former Owls Win National Title With Concordia
Kansas City, MO (Men’s Basketball) -- A pair of former Owls and a former coach helped lead Concordia University Irvine to a NAIA National Championship on Tuesday night. Donnel Phifer and Tommy Granado both played a pivotal role on the Eagles squad, and former assistant coach Brett Lauer was on the bench for Concordia when they defeated Oklahoma Baptist for its second national title in program history.Full article »

Walker Named State Player of the Year; Victor State Coach of the Year
Glendora, CA (Men’s Basketball) -- After helping guide the Citrus College Men’s Basketball team to its second best record in program history, it’s fourth WSC South title in five year, and the CCCAA State Final Four, Citrus College sophomore guard James Walker was named the CCCAA State and SoCal Player of the year, and second year head coach Chris Victor the CCCAA State and SoCal Coach of the Year. It’s the first time in program history a Citrus coach or player has earned the awards.Full article »

Elk Grove, CA (Men’s Basketball) -- The Citrus College Men’s Basketball team’ special 2011-2012 season came to a close on Saturday evening in dramatic fashion. The Owls had a shot waved off at the buzzer that would have sent the game into overtime in a 71-69 loss to Fresno City College in the CCCAA Final Four.Full article »
